I'm new here and have an odd question. I've got an 85 F350 Diesel, sadly from the first half of 85 so I've got the TBB vs the Dana 60 but that is a swap for the future. I wanted to see if I could swap out the 9/16" wheel studs and replace them with 14 mm studs. Anyone think that is possible. I know that everything will be different, different axles different brakes etc..., but I'd really like the 14mm studs.
The reason is I picked up a set of WR Grace 13 Spoke turbine style rims and the take a lug nut with a 0.86-0.88 shank. I can only find those for 14mm studs. I'd love to put these on the truck. Do you think this is a lost cause? Or doable?
9/16"=14.2785mm. You could buy a 14mm stud and see how it would fit. As long as it had a good interference fit in the hub so it would not turn when tightened. You should have to draw it in tight with a 14mm lug nut and some washers.
