trans id link?

I seen it on here before, but can't find it now. What is the link to ID trans by their casting #s.

I don't know for sure, it is in my sons race car. It is a 78 cougar with a 351W, don't know if anything is stock.
The #s on the bell housing are RF-C5AP-7976B1

Sorry, auto? The C4 you were talking about in the other thread?

If you are dealint with a C4, they are pretty much all the same externally, except for the pan-fill vs. case-fill difference.

'78 Cougar race car.... hhmmm. Is this trans going to be reworked and beefed up? Or are you trying to find a trans that will work as-is?

I don't recall any site like you mention for auto trans....(which means little, as I suffer from CRS)
