Anyone using Royal Purple?
Thank you.
I've been using Royal Purple Synthetic oil in my alcohol dragster for the past couple years. I witnessed dyno tests with this oil where a pure racing engine picked up 10-15 horse just by switching oil. I use all their products in my race cars except synthetic trans fluid. Synthetic transmission fluid is not the greatest in a race trans. I am very happy with Royal Purple. Used to use Valvoline Racing. I just bought a new F250 and will be changing to Royal Purple with the first oil change. They do make a 5W20 synthetic. I also change my oil at 3,000 miles religiously. I know this is a little much, but I believe you can't go wrong by changing your oil and filter a little more often. I do a lot of town driving. I am a firm believer in Royal Purple oil.

Has anyone actually used this oil in a motor car application?
Thank you all for the racing and tranny and industrial feedback. I'd like to hear from anyone who's used the motor oil in in a Ford truck.

I guess that I am missing something! LOL Most all of the major oil brands have been tried and tested with many, many millions of miles behind them. Personally, I think it is more scheduled maintenance (making sure the PMs are done, changing the oil and filter when you should) than the brand of oil you use. Most engines now days will last longer than most of us will ever own them with proper maintenance and oil changes. I cannot think of anything much more repulsive than to have to carry oil around with you. No one out on the road has these oils you talk about. RP and Amsoil, no thanks. I'll stick with my million mile Shell Rotella T. If I need a gallon of oil, every station, Wal-Mart and truck stop has it.
Not that it makes any difference, but that is my opinion.
See you down the road.

Sir, I am on board an 18 wheeler for about 250,000 miles per year and have been for almost 25 years. I am very well aware of the problems that can and do arise. In fact, I will be so bold as to say that there is not a hell of a lot that I have not seen out there and nothing would surprise me. I do carry many items, but I am not going to carry oil. If you do as much driving as you say, then you would know that Royal Purple is not what any transportation/trucking company uses. No Sir. Delo, Delvac and Rotella T are what we use and with good reason. If I find myself stranded in Wamsutter, Wyoming with the temperature about 10 below 0 and the wind howling, (or any other place) I can find the oils that I mentioned. You on the other hand, you are in deep do do and better be carrying your RP, because you are not going to find it and that is my point...
At the end of the day, I am going to be just as far down the road (maybe further) than you. And I did not have to lug that oil around. Each and every day, many diesel engines turn over the million mile mark with regular dino oils that I listed above.
