V-10

I am thinking now that the V-10 is my best option for my next 4 year lease then getting into the new 6.7L in 2014. I have been diesel for the last 3 trucks and I know the maintenance costs, but how about the V-10 ? Keep in mind this will be a new truck, and I only put on 15K a year, how many miles between oil changes ? How about the mileage loaded and unloaded ? My reason for going gas is my 2004 6.0L spent so much time in the shop getting warranty work done and me in a rental car, I think the 6.4L might be to much bother as well while waiting for the 6.7L

5000 between oil changes
Mileage will vary a lot depending on what you're doing (highway, towing, rural roads, in town) and the configuration of the truck (4x2, 4x4, CC, etc.). I'd expect between 9 - 15mpg depending.

I think 5,000 based on what kind of oil you are using. No way I would let conventional sit in there that long. I usually do mine at 3k or so with Mobil 1.

Today's SM rated conventional oil will go 5k easy. You can take the grp III so called sythetics out to 7-8k miles and the higher end grp IV sythetics out to 10k plus miles.

Check out www.bobistheoilguy.com for way more than you'd ever want to know about oil. Warning, it can be addictive.
