not even close brad, yours is just a personalized and modified lightning. painting a truck that got its identity or has a special package based largely on its paint scheme does ruin it though.

No Man, You didn't ruin your Lightning. It looks nice. If it were mine, I wouldn't have put the Le Mans stripes on it though. I am tired of everyone doing that especially to the older Mustangs.
The way I see it, any modifications that increase the trucks value and worth, as well as personalise is a good thing.
Any modifications that do the exact opposite is poor judgment in my view.
I personally wouldn't mess with a limited edition vehicle.
As for the lightning, the modifications bring more value than it takes away. So that would be ok.
Painting a Nite, white and blue, makes it ordinary, and ruins the value it had.
My opinion.
I agree with you - what Brad did to his L made it a bit meaner, made it 'his' and didn't take away at all from the truck. 2WD's are not generally my thing but that's a bad-*** truck I'd not mind having in my fleet.
Well, I went back to the yard for the beams and to my surprise: They were still there!
It took me about an hour and a half sweating my Kazzotski off but it was worth it. I had no way of getting the spindles off in the yard, so I had to buy them too. No biggie, I'm going to need them any way.
I also grabbed the lowering springs while I was there. I eye balled them up against a stock set of F150 springs, and they were exactly one coil shorter.
Best part of the whole deal was I got everything for $50 out the gate!
I'm so stoked and I can't wait to get them on the front end of the Rat Rod in conjunction with the rear axle flip........
Here is a pic of them. I'm going to have them sand blasted and powder coated red:
I'm not going to go too crazy with the frame that I have though. It's cracked in a couple places, bent and been welded up before.
I'll just use it for mock up and then when it comes time to do final assembly, I'll replace it with another good frame that I should be able to pick up next week.
Awesome stosh, i cant wait to see your rat rod when shes getting put all together!
Btw, funny you mention the "nite" series, theres a guy here in town that has a 92 that runs it around alot. Its in not too bad of shape and its still got the original black paint! He actually had it for sale for awhile but took it down.
