Update on data plate cleaning
Tried the 50/50 vinager water this am and it worked well.Let it sit about 30 minutes,took a SOFT tooth brush and now i can read everything.It is not show quality but for daily drivers it looks good. Thanks Julie

Good to hear that you got it cleaned up. I wish mine would be that easy. The PO painted it black along with the rest of the firewall.

White vinegar is VERY acid. It tends to clean most oxydation - especially aluminum and Copper based metals (brass and bronze). It works well on aluminum wheels and step plates as well. Another household tip from Julieuiese!

Vinegar also cleans!!!
Vinegar will also clean light/medium rust off of steel (nuts,bolts etc.)It is cheap.It does smell strong once used so cover it.Sorry for the delay in replying,did a bbq fundraiser for our local VFD last two days
