c-6 transmission

will a c-6 that is bolted up to a 351w ..............re-bolt up to a 302 ?

this 351w in in a 1983 bronco................

i want to go with a 302.

CAN I PULL THE 351W OUT AND DROP IN A 302 ?

i have been having bad starter problems.

Yes the trans will bolt up to the 302 (300 I6, 302, and 351W) they have the same bellhousing pattern. You will need the flywheel and converter for the 302 though. As long as you have the mounts for the 302 it will fit, I don't think the 351W and 302 mounts are the same.

The engine mounts are the same for the 302 and 351w. The 302 AOD flexplate I do not think will bolt to the C-6 torque converter. You will need a flexplate from the same year 302 for the C-6 trans, I believe after 79 the 302 flexplate/flywheel balance changed so it was different from the 351 so you will not be able to reuse the 351 flexplate. Everything else is bolt in.

Yes, what alxsnmr says is right! Everything bolts right up. I did the opposite and went from a 302 to 351. Although I changed the transmission to a 4 speed standard F-250 tranny so I had to put a flywheel in. You will have to change the flexplate.
