Auto Dimming Mirror question
I have a 08 FX4 and would like to add the Auto Dimming Mirror to it. Does anyone know if the wiring harness is in the head liner? Or would I have to run power to it from the fuse block.

I went into my dealer after I bought my truck and ordered the auto dimming mirror with the compass and Temp display as it was not even a factory option on my 08 FX4. Not sure where the wires were but the mirror and install came to $250. It was not a factory Ford mirror because they wanted around $500 for the exact same thing. I would highly doubt the wires are already there because like I said those mirrors are not even an option on the 08 FX4, but I could be wrong. My advice would be to shop around because you can get them way cheaper if you go aftermarket and they look and function exactly the same.

i have a 08 superduty and installed the auto dimming mirror with compass and temp.
there was no harness tucked under the headliner, wiring it was easy.
the one i bought was gentex ( the o.e. supplier ) # 50-genk20
its a little narrower then the origional mirror but i looked at a 09 superduty with the auto dimming mirror and its the same size.
i think it cost around 200$ maybe a little more.
the mirror works very well, worth the money imo
