I dont know of any either. Were you tuned? What build dates do you suspect?
I have read about a lot of tuned trucks having less issues than stock trucks. Most of the issues on tuned trucks seem to be with fuel pumps, not HG's. Just from what I have read anyway.
A few guys on the org and the garage have been popping head gaskets. Like mentioned above, there does seem to be a correlation going on with the build dates.
Looks like a Spartan Race tune issue as can't find anything on this in the normal powerstroke forums. There are a few that mention this problem or a EGR issue on the Spartan Forums. It would be interesting to know if all these are releated to a particular build date though.
I bet this is a tune related thing. If it is a build-date related item then why wouldn't there be a recall for the bolts, gasket or whatever the problem was?
Everyone blamed the tuners on 6.0's at first but then there were lots of stock trucks blowing their lid too. I agree that a tuner certainly increases the chances of problems but there are a lot of tuned trucks with no problems yet so Im still interested to hear if there is a relation to the build dates. I had a stock 6.0 pop its top so whether these trucks are tuned or not I am very interested to hear all the information out there.
Ford never recalled HG's or bolts on the 6.0 and those were a pretty big issue, certainly more common than the 6.4 so I wouldnt look for them to recall anything here either.
