1964 Auto trans

I have a 64, half ton. 292/4 spd (or 3 w/granny). I would like to change it over to an automatic. Around here I have not been able to fine a stock auto trans.

Can a c-4 or 6 be adapted to a 292?

Ok, i have another question along these same lines...i have a 352 and i'm wondering if a c4 can be adapted to fit it? I currently have a cast iron FMX automatic.

The C4 was never used with any FE engines.

You do not have an FMX transmission. People confuse it with the MX Cruise-O-Matic.

FE's used MX Cruise-O-Matic (1958/67) / C6 Cruise-O-Matic (1966/76).

The FMX was introduced in 1969 and used in passenger cars only thru 1979 with one exception.

1973/77 F350's with the 300 I-6 used the FMX.

Compared to the MX, the FMX is a weak sister.
