Intermittent Power Loss
I have had an intermittent fuel issue and do not want to spend anymore money for not. The truck runs fine and then usually going up a hill the power will drop off and the SES light comes on. If I pull off and shut the truck off it will disappear for an hour or maybe 2 weeks. The code that comes up is injector pressure above or below desired level. I have changed the pressure regulator, sensor, filter, fuel pump, checked the tank screen with little or no improvement. As of late when I start it in the morning it will start and idle fine, but when I hit the road with my foot in it, it will smoke white for the first 1/8 mile and then all is well. 160000 miles. The wire harness under the valve covers has been replaced too. Any info would be a great asset. Thank you in advance
What you are describing sounds very much like failed injector o-rings, or a bad IPR (injection pressure regulator), or a failed injection pressure sensor.
I'm leaning toward a blown injector o-ring myself.
EDIT: I should have read more carefully!
You've done everything but the injector o-rings.
