I posted a question not too long ago, and thanks for all your help. I have another question. I have a little play in my driveline ( common from what I hear). It makes a little clunk when put from drive to reverse. I've ouned this truck for 4 years and it's always been like this. I owned a Chevy Blazer with a shift kit ,and when it shifted it made a large BANG. anyone think this would happen to my Ford? It's a C6 tranny, 88000 miles, no leaks, and does not slip. I want to install a B/M shift improver. Should I put in the towing version or the street and strip? THANKS EVERYONE!!!!

If you replace the u-joints that will take care of play back to the differential. With the driveshaft out, move the yoke on the differential and see how much play you have. If very little, leave it alone. If a lot, you can adjust the play out of it.
Thanks, I checked that already, It looks like the play is coming from the transfer case, And has not changed since I bought it. Isn't there a chain in it? maybe a little streched?

Thanks, I'm going to double check it again. I know the transfer case will be alot to repair and I can't really do that right now. I just don't want my truck to do what my last truck did. I'll try to pinpoint the play, hopefully it's not the transfer case.
