hey guys never do this, i dont know why i did it. any way a friend of the family left a hummer h2 at my parents house since they left to work at another state for a few months, and here i come to their house and start messing with the freaken hummer. now the problem; the freaken keys wont come out of the ignition swicth. why could this be, does any one have any ideas why this is? the truck is in park.
Sometimes there is a button or lever you have to press to remove the key. Remember, Hummers were really made for military driving. A key falling out of the ignition switch could get lost in a hurry.
Make sure you turned the switch all the way to the "Off" position. Sometimes it'll be close but not quite all the way. Try turning the key back to "On" (not "Start") and then "Off" again a few times.
The H2 was not a military vehicle at all. It is basically a GM truck with more parts. If I were you I would try what Craig said and if no luck here go try to find a hummer forum.
I would make sure it is all the way in "Park". You may need to push the key in slightly to rotate the cylinder all the way back. Maybe you have to step on the brake. Whatever the trick is, I am sure it's covered in the owners manual.
Good Luck!
Perhaps when you shut it off, the steering wheel was turned a little, and when it was shut off, the pressure of the steering wheel on the lock is holding the key in. Try moving the steering wheel one way or another.
i'm checking the owners manual right now and checking online for same type of problem. i did ceck into one of the h2 forums but no luck from there, i can count on you'lls input better so, thanks.
FYI the military Humvees don't have keys... So there's no way to lose them. Probably a good idea considering the guys I work with. I know that some dumb Marine like myself would have lost all the keys by now anyways.

funny thing... its actually increased the overall value of the neon
i wasnt doing it to be mean or anything. ok, so maybe i was..... but she had just been in a fender bender about a 1/4 mile from her house and she called me to come help her. so i get out there and it wont start. i put it in neutral to pull it to her house and it wont roll either because all 4 wheels were locked up for some reason. im trying to figure out whats wrong with it so i dont mess it up even more by pulling on it. shes b*tching and telling me to hurry up or just pull it to the house like it is. i wanted to find out what was wrong with it first, but she kept yapping about me taking too long. so i just hooked the strap to it and drug it up to her house, tires squeeling the whole way, over her curb, through the grass and over some shrubs lol. with no one steering it, it kind of went where ever it felt like going

Wow, sounds a bit harsh... but I'd probably do the same thing.
