Help needed...
He drives 1987 302 efi 5.0 lincoln town car
It all started after he washed the engine one day and since then it wouldnt start.
The car "WILL" start if you spray starting fluid straight into it.
It gets spark to the plugs and coil.
We replaced the Fuel pump, screen, and filter
The fuel pump fusable link is good.
We are kinda lost right now. This is his only car and has no money for anything eles at the moment so ANY help is thanked!!!!
Since it's after a wash job, it would seem to be electrical. Can you hear the pump(s) run when you turn on the key? They should run for 2 seconds, and then they shut off until the engine starts. I think that there are relays and an inertial switch in the power wiring the pump(s).
One off the wall thought. If you pull the vacuum line from the fuel pressure regulator, is there gas present? Something could have damaged the diaphragm
