Have had the parts for almost a year now and finally had them all put together and installed today. Torque converter lock up switch for those of you still reading. It worked out pretty well, with a couple hitches but it's in and I can tell it's working, but I now have a couple more questions. Do I have to use it all the time?? I don't think it goes into lock up mode now unless the switch is on. I used the Schematic from Guzzles page and once we connected ALL the wires it works. Do have the Flashing OD off light for some reason even though I used the resistors and everything that was supposed to eleminate that. I will have to go back and read the post's again when I have a bit more time. If anyone has some links to them I would appreciate it. I did a search on torque converter mods and only came up with some posts on July 7 talking about not needing to do it with some of the tuning. Thanks in advance for any comments.
I have been thinking about doing this for a while now, but after doing the idm mod, I'm scared to mess around with resistors and tampering with the electrical in my truck too much.
you did somthing wrong, double and tripple check everything. i would check the rely.
when i did mine i never had OD light flashing.
did you do the one with indicator diode? its easy to fubar stuff up. so trace all the wires .
the easy way to do it put a # on each soldering or connecting point. or name each part like resistor2 relay 1,
this way you can trace it like this, pin1 of resistor1 goes ro pin1 of relay1 and so on. good luck....
take it out and redo it, before you fubar somthing up...
I didn't build the box myself. Have a electronics repair person look it over and put it together. Bought all the parts at a Radio Shack as listed in Guzzle's parts list. I will go over everything again but it looked right when we installed. Thanks for your input and suggestions.
