in my truck. Got a good deal (so far I think) on a partially disassembled unit, the guy thought it was bad but turned out to be his T-case (got that in the deal too). The tranny needed a few small items that he apparently lost during disassembly. I purchased these from Midwest Transmission. The guys there were very helpful and willing to walk me thru reassembly if I needed help. The parts weren't cheap (120 bucks for 3 seals and sync springs and *****) but I still got what seems like a good ZF for $420 total. Now all I gotta do is figure out what is wrong with this T-case (B-W 1356)I got in the deal. I can play around with it on the garage floor and it seems to "ratchet" at times. I don't think it is much wrong with it, it seems to be in the shifting or detent mechanism because it doesn't do this all the time. If you guys have any experience with this sort of thing let me know. Likewise if I figure it out I will let you all know. I'll build a fire out in the garage one of these cold snowy winter days and tinker with it a bit.

MSD 6A, T-18 but looking for a ZF. 3.55's.
Originally my truck had a 300-6 with a T-18 in it. First I swapped in the 351W, then about a year later I found a ZF from a 1990 F-250 4x4. It takes a different crossmenmer for the swap and I got that in the deal. The ZF is about 2 or 3 inches longer than the T-18 so I had to shorten my rear driveshaft and install the longer front driveshaft that I also got in the deal. I also had to cut a chunk out of the floorboard for the shifter because it sits about 3 inches farther back than on the T-18. Of course the T-18 uses an external slave cylinder and the ZF is internal. I'll be glad to answer any other questions if I can.
