Well, everyday is a day closer to cruising the hi-ways and bi-ways. Last night, I welded up some brackets to hold the bottom of the radiator in place. I bent and cut a section of 2" pipe to make a lower hose adapter. Today, I installed a couple of gauges. I have all factory gauges in place, but only the fuel and batt gauges are hooked up. I'll be running aftermarket mechanicals for the oil and temp gauges. So, I can now say, with out any doubt, that the $15 I spent on an electronic voltage reducer from Mid-Fifty, was $15 very well spent. Works beautifully, and very easy to install. I do have the wires on backwards, as it is reading 3/4 when there is only about 1/4 in it, but that's an easy fix. Which, brings me to this point. I hooked up the gauge backwards from original, assuming that since it was positive ground before, it should be opposite since it is now negative ground. Not the case, so I am a little confused. Oh well, it works, and that's all that matters. So, I must be doing things right. I hooked up a battery, got in it, turned the key, looked at the gauges , and hit the start button. All, just like original. Cranked for about 4 seconds....cough, another 4 seconds......cough, another 4 seconds......vroooooooom!!!!!!! Since this operates off a fuel cut-off solenoid, there is never fuel in the lines from the injector pump. When you shut it off, it runs on four about 5 seconds, or so, and dies. It took 3, 4 second cranking sessions to fill the lines, and the cylinders, and build enough compression heat to fire it up. NOT TOO SHABBY!!!. I'm very pleased. I'll finish the rest of the electrical over the next couple days. I should have the radiator installed completely over the coming weekend. I'll have the boss order me in a set of mechanical gauges from Jegs, or Summit, and get them in this coming weekend. All and all, I think I will be able to actually drive it to the filling station by Sunday I'll try to add more photos soon.
