you will need to get the correct transfer case adapter at least. you also may need to change the rear output shaqft on the transmission. it is usually easier to get a tranny that is already setup than to try to convert.
My only experience is with the T-18 and ZF, but it appears there is enuff of a difference between the 2WD and 4WD versions for me to advise against trying to make it work. It is better to find the tranny you need.

No, as the transmission output shafts are quite different. Changing the output shaft requires completer disassembly of the transmission. Best to find a 4x4 transmission.
changing the tail shaft is quite a job it requires bearing pullers snap ring tools shims and a shaft alone is a bill and a half not including adapter hard to find and expensive unless you have experince or good help try trading or this could get really expensive i have proof in garage
Mike, I have seen this operation performed. Michael 3807 is absolutely correct. The trans in my 86' F-150 needed attention. I was able to locate the same trans out of a two-wheel drive wreck for about $125.00. We gutted both transmissions and built one out of the best parts from both and bolted it back in in one days time. The tranny ran fine but I was skeptical on how long it would last. If I had to do it again, I would just purchase the proper rebuilt for the truck. For the amount of money that I paid my mechanic and for misc parts, I feel that I would have been better off with a rebuilt. I sold the truck 10 months later so I am not sure how long the tranny lasted. Good luck.
