fender question

thinking of buying some used fenders and just had a question. i have a 49 f3 and the fenders i want to buy are f1 fenders i'm pretty sure these will bolt up but the rears are wider right? has anyone put these f1 rears on an f3, and does it look ok? i like how the f1 wheelwells look so i'm hoping this will work. also, runningboards, they are longer on the f3 so the f1's wont work right? i have heard both ways on that also, someone told me they were just narrower and that lengthwise they were the same. thanks for the help!

F-1 fronts are the same except the arch is smaller. The rears are all different. I've seen F-1 rears on a F-3 with stock wheels and tires and they look like heck. If you use much wider wheels and tires, though, you can pull it off. Running boards are longer on F-2/3s. No way the F-1s will fill the gap.

yeah, i like the smaller arch on the front, is the arch the same on both the rears? i can get either set from the same person (f1's or f3's) if the only difference is the width of the rears i will just go with the narrower ones. with the tires I will be running something wider than stock, nothing extreme but definately a lot wider. would the running boards be worth lengthening a set of f1's with the good sections out of my old f3's or would that be too much work? thanks!

I wish we were closer. I have a set of front and rear fenders for an F3. I cut my F3 down to an F1.
