Just to be sure here... To perform EGR delete all that's involved is to disconnect wire (with engine and key OFF to assure valve is closed) and remove butterfly from throttle body (if it's there) ?

Man there's a million posts on this subject. You'll find 10 different answers on this. And by the way do you think your dad will be ok with you unplugging stuff on his truck? Not trying to be an a#%hole or anything but he did pay for it.

Just disconnecting the EGR valve isn't the most effective way to delete EGR keep doing research there are tons of options.
The butterfly doesn't HAVE to come out if you have it....

What year?? 05-07 will set a MIL condition and cause the turbo to enter a "limp" condition.
We live in Louisiana. Not a Cali truck. My Dad trusts me completely working on his truck. It's an '03. No tuner yet, will be purchasing a SCT X3 and an MBRP turbo back exhaust kit (keeping cat).

03 does not have the limp mode IF you pull the plug after the VGT relearn.
And I bet you do not have cold start problems in LA.
