That's right, but let me start at the beginning. About 2 weeks ago I cleaned the engine AFTER putting towels on the areas I thought needed protecting ( I cleaned the engine once before and blew a couple of COP's).
Anyway sure enough it started missing beats but I took it straight home, let it sit overnight and next morning it was fine, and has been running normally since then until this Saturday. I was driving on a nearby back road (East Tennessee) making use of those Bilsteins I installed and was pushing it pretty hard through the curves when suddenly, immediately after going through a hard left turn, the missing returned.
The check engine light came on once, then disappeared and must have cleared any code because the people at Auto Zone say no codes are present. The first time this happened a code for one of my COP's was present, this time nothing.
What else could cause this. Ignition wires maybe? I'd like to replace them anyway and would appreciate any suggestions which to use and for what might be causing this problem-. Thanks in advance.

You must have gotten some water down the plug holes. What I've done in the past is to get the engine to operating temperature and then remove your COP. You will see steam come out. Just let it sit till it drys out or blow compressed air down to dry it. Even if you replace the boot you should do this to get all the moisture out.
thanks for the reply wojo. Here in east Tennessee the rains have been pretty consistent the last several weeks but I'm surprised to think water could get in there from just raining. Nonetheless I've got a problem and will try your solution. I'm wondering if investing in a blower makes sense. Walmart has some starting at $30. Seems like a small price to pay to avoid this kind of problem. What do you think ?
