shifting question
Can a C6 trans work without using a kickdown linkage? Right now mine isn't hooked up because I don't have one and the trans will not shift. The fluid level is ok any thoughts to what may be wrong.
P.S. The only way it will shift is to manually shift it.

it should still shift on its own even without the kickdown linkage all the linkage does is downshift it when you floor it, if it isnt shifting properly i would first check the vacuum line going to the modulator on the transmission if it has vacuum down there i would replace the modulator its only a couple bucks and it will make your tranny shift itself, if fluid comes out of the vacuum line fitting when you disconnect it you know its shot for sure
