Optix pyro problem

My gauges have been in for a couple weeks now and seemed to be working fine. Tranny temp takes a while to get moving but it eventually does and hovers around 150, highest has been 180 or so. The pyro was working fine, can't keep my eys off it, it's fun to see it drop jus from letting off the gas.

Yesterday was my first hour plus trip. A few miles before my destination I noticed the pyro would drop below 400. It idled 5 min and still no drop. I shut it down, turned the key on, off, then back on at the pyro reset at 200 which from the past I noticed was common at idle on my truck.

On my way home comming through a small town with a 35mph limit, I just happen to notice the pyro was pegged at 1600. ??? I let off a bit and it would drop to 1500 but as soon as I gave it a touch of throttle it would peg again at 1600. I pulled right over, reached through the wheel well and felt no abnormal heat. Popped the hood, heat felt fine. I performed the same shut down/reset as before and the needle went to 400. Any ideas???

No trailer, just the X. I installed the gauges with their built harness and I am completely **** when it comes to this stuff. Any ideas before I call Danin? Thanks.

You can test the pyro probe at idle to see if that is it. Use a multimeter and measure how many mV it is putting out. Should be about 5.2 mV IIRC, but this may be hit and miss since it seems to be sporatic. Beyond that you might need to call where you purchased for warranty.

Check all your connections, and make sure it is wired properly.

The wiring is fool proof using Danin's wire harness. The pyro has one plug into the gauge and one plug that goes to the probe and the entire harness goes to key power and ground. I think if it was a loose wire I'd get more irratic readings. Just drove it to lunch and it was fine. I'm thinking it's the gauge.
