Tranny swap help

I have a 2001 ford F350 4x4 with an automatic tranny. The automatic tranny part is my problem, I am looking into changing it over to a six speed and was wondering if anyone else here has done one or if anyone had any input on it?

Your best bet is to get a doaner truck. IIRC you may need the PCM out of it also.

Sell the truck you have and buy one with a 6sp. This is the cheapest way to go. Sorry.

Seems like there's also an issue of having to beat out the hump in the floor to provide clearance for the stick. Yes it can be done. The only thing stopping you is money. I don't blame you for wanting a stick, I wouldn't trade mine, but if I were in your shoes I'd be calling a buy named Brian. He can build a bulletproof transmission and he'll actually dare you to try and break it. He doesn't care about lifts or chips or any of that. It's truly the last transmission you'll have to buy for the truck and will end up being cheaper than the 6 speed conversion.
