Sense my tranny is coming out for my stupid hard to shift into 1st and 2nd im going to put in a new clutch. What is a good one for a decent price. i want one that i can tow with and drive like normal, but crank up the power some. Nothing extream just a tunner maybe a DP tunner later. Thanks
Southbend, LUK, Valair are all good ones. Make sure you put in the kevlar pilot bushing. I'd also consider swapping out the clutch hydraulics since they always seem to fail not long after the clutch is replaced.
chris hit it on the head. Al of those brands have different power levels for their clutches. So just pick out the right horsepower and you should be good to go

X2 on this one.
My pilot bearing failed and subsequently ruined the bearings in my transmission.
.
Also, I have a LUK clutch installed, and while it works good for a clutch, sometimes it makes the truck do that "bunny hop" at the point of engagement.
It has to do with the way that the pressure plate is designed and LUK didn't get it perfect.
If I had to do it all over again, I would be trying a different brand of clutch.
The factory Valeo that I removed was still working great, smooth engagement, etc. But it was getting pretty rusty in the disc hub and I didn't trust it to not throw a spring soon, so out it came.
I havent heard great things about Luk clutches. I used to work there so I know a lot of people that have used them. What I have heard is the same thing that Dan has said. Just my 2 cents.

I haven't head too much of this. Guess I should leave Luk off the list next time. I always figured Dan's bunny hop had more to do with a 4.88 rear end than the clutch. I thought I had power in granny gear in my truck, his probably just chews into the asphalt.
