AOD or C-6

What year did the AOD appear in trucks? I have a transmission that I thought was a C-6 but the pan doesn't have a notch in the back so I think it may be an AOD. It came out of a 1980 E-150 or E-250 and it was behind a 302 with a 2bbl.
I don't remember what the shift pattern was or I could probably figure it out.
The pan has sloped corners if that helps.

AOD or C-6

On aod's the back two corners of the pan taper in a bit. Looks something like this:

Also, the pan has fourteen bolts on it.
