theres a guy named sumthin harvey on here. you gotta look in the motor swap section. but i hate to burst your bubble but these 5.4's dont let go very easy. you may be waiting a while. not to mention your trans will need a serious upgrade to handle the torque of a cummins from a v8 gasser.

Thanks ill look it up. Actually my engine is gettin close already. not sure how hard it was pushed before I bought it but it needs about $4000 in repairs (I guess it doesnt "need" them) to get it back into good shape so I thought id weigh the options

'06 5.4L gas engine truck got the same trans as the diesel-the 5R110 Torqshift. It will not need any upgrades.

Was one guy around here that did the swap, but last I heard was fighting overheating issues.

Thanks for all the help and information. I will check all the sites out and start saving my pennies. It'll be a while now as I blew the torqshift in my 03 diesel so its getting a full bolt in BD unit. And the 06 needs a complete exhaust system, couple exhaust studs, carbon canister and something to do with a cam sensor that makes a knocking sound? That or a cummins cuz it wont cost much more.

I was quoted on over 1000k on the exhaust cuz I need cats n all, manifold back. Plus studs which adds cost. Carbon canister and breather kit is over 500, and the list goes on. But I got lucky, got rid of the nasty sputter, hesitation off the line and check engine light. Fiddled with a vac hose and cleaned the throttle body and runs almost like new. Used to be a mining truck so that black coal dust is caked everywhere, never thought it would be that far in the engine. And the cummins swap I have done hw on and could get one installed for under 6k canadian. minus exhaust and other goodies I may want as an extra, but I can fab a lot of stuff here on my farm.

This has nothing to do with a Cummins swap,,,But the Cummins in genral,,,,I was talking to a man just down the road from me yesterday,,,This man sells tractors,,He has 3 pickups to haul trailers with,,a 92 Dodge w/cummins,,a 97 Ford with the Powerstroke and recently purchased a 06 Dodge w/ Cummins,,

92 Dodge is slow,,pulls good,,has 300k on it,,rebuilt rear 3 times,,
97 Ford pulls OK,,comfortable crew cab,,,is happy with it,,,
06 Dodge,,,4 door,,8' bed dually,,Cummins 5.9,,, 6-speed standard,,,He said he has never driven a pickup truck with so much power,,,with 14 k trailer in tow,,,hit some big Hill at 65 mph,,,mashed the go pedal in 6th gear,,at the top of this hill he was doing 80 mph !

I said is this Dodge all stock,,he said it had a chip or something,,,but not any more,,,He also mentioned,,you need to be careful driving it in the rain,,,3rd gear or so mash the go pedal,,,doing 50 or so,,,and it will go out sideway,,,,I was shaking my Head,,,Just saying WOW !

So My ? is Does someone make a kit or whatever to bolt a Cummins engine directly to the Torque-Shift trans in a SuperDuty ? What about wireing,,check engine lights etc,,,?
