Engine light on dash

The red "Engine" light is on and wont go off how do i get this thing off?

Red engine light? What is it, an 87? I think they did away with it after that year.

Let me see if I can remember what the red light signified, it's been a long time since I've heard of one.

It is supposed to come on when the oil pressure is too low ('87) and/or when the coolant is too hot ('88-91).

oh well Iguess that makes since I have memechanical oil and temp guages .
