Afternoon gents! On Tuesday I installed my OBA, AIH delete plug w/boost, and my HPX. While driving yesterday I noticed that my engine sounded different. By engine I mean my intake, turbo, etc. It went from the usual "whoosh" to more of a hiss. My boost seems like it could be down a little according to the gauge, but I don't think I'm showing any other signs of a boost leak. I checked my boots and all of the connections on the intake. Nothing seemed to be loose. Any ideas guys?
I,m stummped, we got all the boots and clamps back on.. Could it be because the motors running smoother with the HPX?? Just a thought...Check all the IC and spider boots too, or did you check those??
If you checked all the boots and the one's on the bottom of the spider, I would check the AIH plug and your boost gauge line. Some people have had problems where the plastic tube has cracked or has a leak somewhere in it giving you a false reading and a hiss sound.
No, its definitely a different sound. There is no whoosh with the air intake anymore. Like I said, it's just a hiss, and it's not even coming from the intake. It looks like the spyder is not seated properly with the turbo. I'm going to give that a shot and hopefully that fixes it.
Ok I'm back in business. I just reseated the spyder and made sure that clamp was nice and snug. I took it for a drive and I've got the whoosh back! So no Rick, I don't need to check my ears!

Glad you figured it out. And glad your ears are working ok too.
