Power steering pump
hopefully someone can help or had this problem before. when i start my truck up i hear a high pitch whining sound. and when i turn the wheel it kind of goes aways also does it around turns too but its louder when i first start it up. would that be the power steering pump going? the fluid is fine on it. but lately the sound is getting worse but i really dont have problems turning it. also are they hard to change out or self explanitory. its a 2000 f250 5.4 thanks guys.

They are pretty easy to change. I had to leave the hose on in because it was too hard the attach the hose after it was in. (and out). Get one with a pulley on it unless you have a good puller. I had to walk a mile to a shop with mine and paid them $25 to press it off and on. $61 at Shucks rebuilt w/no pulley. If you can't turn your wheels, stopped, with foot off brake, lock to lock you probably need one.
