Got the FatMat Installed
#7
I bought 2 kits which consisted of 200 Sq-ft, about a year ago. Each kit which has 2 rolls/100 sq-ft, was $110. It took me about 12-hrs to do. I took off all the side panels and did them as well. I just didn't take a picture of them. I did the inside of the doors as well. It helped quite a bit.

Thanks agian guys. I didn't do the ceiling this time around. I had planned on it, but after I spent about 4-5 hrs on Firday afternoon taking my truck apart, and all day Saturday to do the install and finish up, I wasn't ready to tear into the ceiling. The hardest part was taking apart and marking each and every wire from the 2 Amps that go underneath the RR-seat. HAH HAH HAh
I do have more picture's as well. I'll be sure to upload them to my galleries so that you can access them too.
It cut my noise down quite a bit. I'd say It cut my noise down about 30-40%. Not huge. But for me, most of my noise comes from three things.
1. Stage 3 Hybrids
2.Tire noise (Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ) 325X65X18
3. Muffler Delete/Drone
For any of Ya'll that do this to a stock truck with the muffler still in place, I think the benefits you would reap would be huge. I hope to do the underside of my hood this weekend, along with the 3/8 Vac hose up and into the door seal's. This should make a good bit of difference too.
My stereo sounds much tighter also. I did the firewall above the turbo area about 1-1/2 years ago and it's held very well also. I did use a blow torch to heat the Mat up, so that it would help with the bonding. I noticed a few years back while changing the fuel filter on My wife's 02 Excursion that it had sound matting above the Turbo on the Firewall. I then looked at my truck (99.5 F-250) only to find out that mine was bare metal. So I installed the FatMat to cover this entire area first. I don't know if all trucks came like this, bare metal above the Turbos, or if this Matting was only done on the Ex's. Something to look into. But this did help to cut down on the heat and the noise transfer into the cab. Please don't misunderstand me guys,I'm not saying my truck is super Quite now, or that yours will be. It's not! But it definately helps alot when you do this sound matting mod with the engine, tires and road niose. I accept that I drive a truck and with that the road noise, tire noise etc will always be there. But I can have a conversation with somone in my truck and don't feel like I'm yelling, or on my Bluetooth and not suffer to hear whats being said.
