Iv noticed for a month now every time i go to start my truck when its cold it doesnt start on the first try instead it sputters as if it were gonna start but dies and on the second try it fires up like its brand new, any idea on what this could be related to fuel issue or battery or is it something else, only does it when motor sits for a while or cools down.
You need heat in the combustion chamber to start the engine. As the truck gets older and parts start to wear you tend to loose a little more each time. Check the spark plugs for gap and how clean they are. If the gap is too far out makes harder to start and dirt helps with nothing. Just where I would start. Battery would make it sound like it was hard to turn over and fuel should spudder fairly bad so I think you should hold off on looking there.
