C6 & TC refill

C6 & TC refill

I had my 1979 F150 4X4 C6 transmission rebuilt and installed a new torque converter. How much total fluid is required? I can not get a good indication on the dipstick. Thank You

C6 & TC refill

I changed out the tranny, filter, TC fluid last week on my truck and was charged for 12 quarts. My Haynes manual says 11.7 to 13.5 qts. If yours is starting "dry" I'd buy 14 qts. If you've got a an additional cooler/oil lines, another quart or so.
