02 Expy AC problem

The AC in my 02 Expys does not want to blow cold air, the AC lines in the front and the rear of the truck are getting nice and cold, but the air coming out of the vents is not cold at all. I am affraid that it might be the blen door issues that I have read about, is there an easy way to troubleshoot this?

does the heating/cooling system work on any other settings? I mean, do you get heat through the different vents when you cycle through the settings (panel, defrost, floor) and does the heat change temperature (other than getting cold with the AC) when you turn the temp ****?

It has the electronic controls for the temps, everything other than the AC works, the heat changes tempatures(warm to hot), just the cold air for the AC in the front or rear. I pulled the panel in the rear and the AC line is nice and cold. I had the system recharged last year.

Unless you have problems with both the front and back blend doors at the same time I can't blame them. The front temp is controlled by the blend door in the dash and the rear by electric actuators in the rear. Are you getting a clicking or thumping noise from the rear?

No clicking or thumping from the rear. I am almost thinking low r134a as the compressor clutch cycles on and off, not quickly, but it does cycle.

That's most likely the problem. If you had the system recharged last year and the leak wasn't repaired, it has probably leaked down again. Just like a leak in any other area, refrigerant leaks only get worse, not better. If your ambient temp is above 80*, you really shouldn't see the compressor cycle at all if both fans are running.
Your AC system came with UV dye from the factory. The leak shouldn't be very hard to pinpoint.

Thanks for the help guys. For giggles I added a can of r134a and the AC blows nice and cold and the clutch wasn't cycling anymore, I guess when I get time I will have someone look for the leak and fix it.
