New poster here and soon to be owner of a 2009 F-150 XLT 4X4 Screw with 4.6L V8. Options are 3.55 or 3.73 LS, SNYC, Trailer Tow, XLT Convenience Package, Driver's Package, and XLT Chrome Package. My only dilemma is deciding on the color: Oxford White, Dark Blue Pearl, or Sterling Grey. Of these three, which color do you think looks the best with the Chrome package? Pics would be appreciated since the dealer will have to do a dealer swap to get the vehicle. I've seen the Blue/Chrome combo on another forum, but haven't seen the XLT in White or Sterling Grey combo. Thanks
The sterling grey color is a very nice dark color that would offset the chrome really nicely, and it is probably my second favorite color avaible in the F-150, the first being blue flame. Also sterling grey hides dirt pretty well for such a dark color. Are you getting the 4.6 2v or 4.6 3v?? I have drove a few F-150's with the 2v and wasn't happy and would not reccomend getting that engine in the truck, it is to underpowered for that heavy of truck. Be sure to post pics when you get it.
The Sterling Grey would be my choice - that was my second choice, behind black. A friend has a grey Platinum and the grey sets the platinum bar and other bling off nicely... I suspect it would do the same for the chrome.
Find the 5.4. after driving the 4.6 and comparing I was sold on the 5.4 in a heartbeat after driving it. there is no comparison in the power for towing.
I'm leaning more towards the Sterling Grey (if I can find one with the options). Think that color looks cool and it won't show the dirt as much as some of the other colors. I'm also opting for the 4.6 for a couple of reasons. The first is I don't tow anything unless the wife let's me get a boat down the road. I only use the back end for light loads during hunting season and the occasional move that goes along with military life. Second reason for the smaller engine is that it will give me an additional $1000 cash back on the cash for clunkers program. My '93 F-150 had a combined 14 mpg and the '09 with the 4.6 has a combined 16 mpg. With that invoice savings on the engine plus the $1k, I can't justify the bigger 5.4L. BUT it would be nice - no doubt.
I just picked up an FX4 screw in Sterling Gray and I think the color is awesome. I originally looked for the Dark Blue Pearlcoat, but am very happy with Sterling Gray.

They make a supercrew with 4.6l? I thought that bumped you up to the 5.4 in the XLT
The '09 F150 sales brochure cover is a razor red XLT screw w/chrome option. In my opinion, it looks sharp. The other color I would consider is Flame Blue.
But if you have to stick with the colors you mentioned, I would pick the Oxford White. My previous two trucks were oxford white and they hid dirt extraordinarily well. I think Stone Green looks great too.
