i know shop prices i have my own! "as for grammer sorry you don't like mine but you still understood it" i was quoting you prices from reciept i had in my hand. At my shop i don't mark up parts make my $ of labor. most all parts are made at same factory just put in different boxes
Wish we had more honest shops like yours out our way. Went and had some brakes on the powerstroke replaced and noticed a difference between their parts reciept and ours by about $30. Really makes you doubt some people.
I didn't mean to make it sound like I don't like your grammar, just takes a few reads to pick through it lol.
not badgering! i just know what part cost me. 7.3s just seemed real high, could be our locations though, i give all my customers the reciept from parts if they want them. i'm not trying to get rich just feed the kids
I have done what you did, and my truck works fine also, though I had a little problem with it cooling on the highway. That turned out to be the A/C clutch was out of adjustment.
Mine had been sitting with a low r12 charge for years. I have heard people recommending to change this or that, but the r134a is not that expensive to try, and if it doesn't work, then you can work from that. I am surprised that it worked without pulling a vacuum on it. You have air in it, and air has lots of stuff in it including moisture. I guess the accumulator is taking care of it. If you find that it quits cooling on you, and then starts cooling again, it might be moisture freezing up on the orifice clogging it up.
this is all something i would like to do one day as mine is not in posession of an AC system. Could i get all the parts from a jy and install? It has the switches in the cab and venting for it all just need the AC components. Then while installing re do all the seals etc?
I replaced the dryer, fittings, and orifice. Took top of compressor apart and replaced the o-ring. Has been working fine.
As far as the cruise, check the switch at the pedal. Per this list I looked at mine and found that it was pushed back, so the cruise system thought the brakes were on all of the time which of course turned the cruise off...
im a little nervous about doing a recharge. i hope the port pointed out in the original post picture and noted by the next post is indeed the correct one to use.
ill get back to you guys in a little bit. hopefully with both hands.
