thanks
Have you checked the fluid to make sure it isn't down? If it is down then you either have a leak or some bubbles in the system worked their way out. Check all the fittings and the cylinders, I think on a Ford there are two, one at the pedal linkage and one at the bellhousing. Make sure they have no leaks. Also check the bleeder valves to be sure they are not stuck slightly open. You might also want to bleed the system for the heck of it since it is cheap and worthwhile anyway. Also there may be a possibility of getting some contamination in the system(poor rebuild job of just dirt) which may occasionally cause the pistons to stick in the cylinder. This would probably require disassembly and cleaning.
I forget if you said you replaced the clutch, if you did, did you put in a new throwout bearing and possibly lubricate the shaft it rides on?
I think the tranny you have is a Mazda built unit and it may have an aluminum sleeve around the transmission input shaft, if so, it has been my experience and many others with older model SHOs with a Mazda tranny, that the shaft will get worn unevenly(actually they look kind of lumpy, bad) which will cause the throwout bearing to stick and also cause early failure of the clutch. Whoever thought of using aluminum for a bearing surface for this purpose should have his head shaved and stuck in a blender, just my irritated opinion.
Good Luck,
Jim Henderson
