Currently I have 265/70R17 tires on my 2003 expedition. Want to buy 16in cheap wheels to mount 245/70R16 studded snows. Can I do this w/o wreaking havoc on the 4wd system?
Be sure you get light truck rated wheels for your truck. Cheap car rated wheels won't hold up on potholes, RR tracks, etc. If they fail they can kill you, or at the very least ruin your new tires.
Hope this helps.
You will have great difficulty finding "cheap" wheels for your '03 Expy as they have changed the number of studs and there aren't to many after marked folks making replacements yet for them, let alone "cheap" ones!
Your best bet is to try the wrecking yards for some of the stamped steel wheels that are used for the spare . . . Either that or place a call to someone like the good folks at tirerack . . .
