I feel SOOOO stupid for doing this-

- but today out of sheer bordem, I actually bought an issue of 8-Lug magazine. I've always hated it, nothing but a bunch of expensive trucks with little practical use..... But here in Iraq I had to kill a few hours waiting, so it's either this mag, or Womens Health... Man they have got some real winners writing for this rag- one comment they made in reference to a (IIRC) Freightliner FL70 cab "Yeah it may be a 12 lug truck, but we think it fits in great with us" WTF?? A 12 lug truck?? And they actually sell this crap?? The editor probably used to write fir Beter Homes and Gardens- there is no such thing as a 12 lug Freightliner.... They also supported putting a K&N filter on a diesel- good luck there pal with your free upgrade... see ya in about a year when your turbo's dusted... Those were just 2 of the atrosities I found, and believe me, there were plenty more.

SO, if you got more money than sense, and use your truck as nothing more than a status symbol to make up for lack of manliness in other areas, then this rag is right up your alley. But if you like to learn more about your truck (even though you can learn all you need to know here on FTE!!) and you use it for it's intended purpose, please find another way to invest your hard earned money and pass this magazine by!!

That's funny- I couldn't see the pics, but yeah, I'm pretty sure that's the issue. One good curb will take out those shiny fake train horns under the radiator LOL....

Yeah I have bought a couple issues and always get a good chuckle out of it...I would say its cheap entertainment but at over six bucks, its not even worth that. Diesel Power is the only one I like. When the wife and I were at the beach on vacation, I was bored in the room when her and her sister went for the day to do something I stopped at the store and bought about 4 different diesel mags, all were a waste of money except DP.

I hear ya- I subscribe to DP, but also the other mags every month EXCEPT for 8 lug. I actually keep all my diesel mags, might come in handy one day...

Diesel Power is the only one I subscribe to. Every now and then I'd buy Diesel World if there was something in there for the DIY-er but I haven't seen it on the rack for awhile.

I buy diesel power from time to time mainly for the universal SD stuff like axles and non engine specific bolts ons that will work on my gasser. I've looked at diesel power and 8 lug in the store and diesel power seems like a more tech oriented mag.
