A/C questions...
I did a search, but didn't turn anything up. I've a crew cab with a 460 that the air doesn't work. I just got the truck, so I don't know much about it. It seems to be charged, or at least it won't take any freon, but the compressor sort of cycles on and off. The reading goes from low to hi in a matter of seconds when the compressor comes on. Could this be a clogged expansion valve? Or an orifice problem? Looks like maybe the compressor goes out out on hi head pressure? I haven't picked up a manual for it yet, guess I'd better. I was hoping someone here has experience this and it's a simple solution.

If your clutch keeps kicking on and off a bunch you could have a clogged orfice tube. That would be from your compressor going to pot. Check your low side and watch what it reads. You could have a bad compressor.
