Might Purchase a Ranger?
Hi, new here. I was wondering if anyone can give me some advise.
I am going to look at a ranger on Wednesday.
It is a 1994 4cyl 5 spd. It has 150k on it, and he wants 800 for it. Body looks good in photos, and he says it runs nice. Was this a decent year, and engine? Or is this too high of miles?
Anything specific I can check on this? It will be my first Ranger so I am but lost with what to check, or if this is just too high of miles. Thanks in advance!

It's high on the miles for a 4 banger. But that's why the price is so low.
The most readily examined telltale for how a truck been used and the condition of the truck would be if it's clean and waxed. If an owner doesn't take care of the whole truck it's not likely that the owner has taken care of parts of the truck. Check for service records, those are papers that have mileage, dates, service performed, parts replaced written on them. Take some of your tools with you and take a look under the truck, inside and out.
Then tell the guy you'll go not a dime over 400.
