04 power problem
hey all, i have a 04 350 with the 6.0 and aprox 90,000 miles on it.well my wife took it to go get some beer and on the way home it puked.it will idle fine ,start fine.but when you step on it, it will start smoking alot,mostly white then a little blue and some black.in park you can get the rpm's up if you keep holding it,and it seems to clear up around 3000,let off it does it again. in drive you have no prayer of going any were.i cant beleive i had to use my 68 f350 to tow home a 04,should be the other way around,LOL.i have recently cleaned the egr mabe 2-5000 miles ago, i have not torn into anything yet. thanx

Could be. Park it nose-down overnight and pull the EGR valve. If there's coolant in the intake then the EGR cooler is blown.

man believe it or not it was the EGR again.pulled it out and a chunk of carbon was holding it wide open. when the EGR went out the first time the symtoms were different thats way i just assumed that it was somthing different.put it back in,drove it around untill running temp. and no smoke,no prob's what so ever.i hate that i started a new thread about the same old EGR prob,but i just thought it was somthing else.anyway thanx, oh yeah were is this EGR cooler at? and yea my wife hasd to haul alot of PBR for me.LOL.
