im building a 57 ford with a freind of mine and we are having steering column issues. we bot a flaming river column and no drop and cant figure out why it not fitting. any suggestions or picture would be helpful
As Stephen 67 said, we need a better description of where you are having a problem. If you can add a picture or two that might help. Also let us know what you are trying to connect to; the OEM box or an a rack & pinion setup...just where is the problem?

thanks stephen67. like i said its a flaming river column and no drop but when i bolt the non dropped bracket under the dash it puts the column unable to get the correct angle out of the stock location. it will adventually go to a rack n pinion. do i have to cut some of the floor or am i just looking a it wrong

Check out my albums. There is one called "57 Effie Steering Column" that shows how I did mine.
I cut my stock drop, lengthened it 1" with 1" x 1/8" steel bar stock (you can see where it is tack welded together while I experiment with it). I then used a die grinder to change the bottom part that wraps part way around the tube. The Flaming River column is larger diameter than the stocker. You will also have to make a floor mount plate to get things where you want them.
We usually use a 3 1/2 inch drop. F.R. or IDIDT. Steel weld-on drops are also avail. Any less than this will cause the shifter to hit the dash. We tend to 'lift' the hole in the floor 'up' a bit, on the toe board, to make the driving position more comfortable. Good Luck
