air cleaner

i have been trouble shooting today .when i hit the gas it bogs down and makes a popping sound like a backfire out the air inlet. i took the air hoses and box off then the problem goes away,could the air hoses be collapsing

I suppose they could if they are really soft and falling apart. I don't think they would be doing that though. Is the air filter good?

pest nest in cold air intake opening ???????????? Before the filter. Works with it off, but not with it on. Not to many things in-between. It could be collapsing. There is a lot of vacuum generated by the motor. Can you squeeze the air tube by hand?

the truck had a tune up a couple of months ago.i sqeezed the hoses they are pretty soft the springs are still intack as far as i can see i blew as hard as i can into it barely feeling any air on the other side.
