Really am curious. Mine seems to Idle fine, but seems rough when I first start it up. Oil pressure gauge says low for a second.
I believe the gauge reads the HPOP?
I had reading issues on it, and cleaned the HPOP sensor connection, and it works fine now. Oil drain down on the HPOP?
I haven't really much paid attention to other peoples PSD's when around them, cause they were not running, but the reason I ask the rough idle is because mine has the Rock.
I do like it rocking back and fourth, which is kinda cool, but if its not supposed to be, then I should fix it. hah!
Older engines will do that, rough idle cold them straighten out with a little warmth.
If it's "romping after it up to temp you may have issues.
Try shifting the trans into N to see if it changes. A TRS out of adjustment can cause the romps.
No worry as long as it starts good. You can address it next time the VC come off. if the TRS is OK.
The oil pressure gage is on the HPOP but it measures the LPOP pressure.
It would be nice to have an permanent HPOP gauge but expensive. They use a sending unit.
I have a 4000psi gauge for temporary tests but it's mechanical. There is no way i would bring that much oil pressure inside the cab. Messy & dangerous IMO!
TRS = Transmission Range Selector E4OD has a sensor/ switch that atcuates the transmission into gear from the column vs a physical connection like the old c6 or something of that nature.
Romping is when the motor acts like it wants to cut out when cold idling... very distinctive once you've heard it. Idles up, almost dies, rinse and repeat a few times very quickly. Usually only an issue in cold weather. The motor rocking at idle is normal, throw a Riffraff HPX on there and it will smooth out a ton.
