yeah, I did take the line off. I must've misunderstood what you meant, there was no fuel in the line or on top of the FPR itself. I thought you meant inside the FPR, so I took it off and gas came out the bottom. Go ahead and call me a dumba@#.
Well Subford, I went ahead a replaced the FPR even though I may not have needed to and there is no change in the way it runs. It still acts as though it wants to stall, but when pressed to the floor it'll go. The backfiring I'm hearing I think may be detonation, but I'm not sure on that. I'm tired of throwing parts at it and I don't have the money, but I would like to get my truck back to working order. I guess I'll take it to the Goodyear place where my neighbor used to take it and have them look at it. I don't think it would be a good idea to drive it 20 miles to my brother-in-laws dealership. Thanks for the help though.
get a bottle or started fluid and spray around you engine for vacuum leaks. check your distributor cap and rotor for damage. battery light coming on could be a bad ground somewhere... start small do not just go changing sensor, the economy is bad, but is it not up to you to keep the auto parts store open. good luck!
I'm just curious, but what does starting fluid do when I spray it around the engine? What do I need to be looking for? I've never done that before, I can do a few things to a truck or a car and can figure some stuff out on my own. Some of these tricks ya'll seem to know I'm still learning. The cap and rotor are basically new, but I will check it anyway. Now if that's it I going to shoot myself in the foot for not figuring that out. But thank you
Well I sprayed starting fluid on the engine while it was running and I guess it's supposed to rev higher when a vacuum leak is present. Well it did around the TB the tube in the middle of the TB giong to the thing that sits beside the EGR. I have no idea what it's called and I wish I could get a picture of it, but I'm technologically challenged. Could this be my problem?
