It's been a while for me 2 post on here but I need some advice for something. I have replaced the EGR valve, Air intake Control, & new clutch fan on my 95 F-150 5.0 4x4 and the dang thing still isn't running right. It still smells like it's dumping gas, the motor is rocking somewhat still,& the Check Engine light won't go off. Now I have had it put on an actual diagnostic computer after putting this new stuff on and nothing popped up on the computer. The timing is at 25 degree's which isn't affecting it any, the MAF sensor is still good as well. Does anyone have any ideas???????? or should I just shoot the truck and get it over with cause I am tired of messing with it at this point.
My 92 F150 was dumping fuel and smelling bad. I did a lot of things ended up being the fuel pressure regulator. It didn't have any fuel in the vacumn line but ran much better after I replaced it.
No I don't use high Octane fuel that much, now I did do one other thing last night and that was take the exhaust off after the 2nd cat and busted the guts out of the cat, needless to say the smell of dumping gas has almost went away and runs much better, I know that that wasn't all of the problem but I will check the fuel pressure gauge on it. Now where is the fuel pressure gauge located at? I know that was probably a stupid question but oh well.
If the check engine light is on there has to be codes that are still present that need to be cleared. It may also be a bad computer.
Have you tried the DIY method of pulling the codes? Get a short jumper wire and connect the STI plug to the Sig-Rtn on the EEC test harness,(inner fender drivers side) and then turn the key to run. The fuel pump should cycle for 1 sec and then the codes will flash on the check engine light. You should at least get an 11 or 111, if nothing at all happens then the computer is bad.
just got done checking the codes, no 11 or 111 but i got a 113 and a 565 if I remember right the 565 is the purge Canister but not 100% positive, but the 113 I have no idea
what is this I just looked it up on the net>>P0113 IAT Circuit High Input
I was wrong about the 565 being the purge tank
this is what the codes list said>>P0565 Cruise ON Signal Malfunction
any one care to take a stab at those ones for me???..lol
