finally got my brake controller installed tonight. I mounted it on the fuse box panel cover. the one pain was finding the factory connector to plug into.On the 05 its attached to the back of the rectangular paper holder cubby thing just under where the ESOF switch would be. Nice of ford to make a dummy plug for it to go into so it doesnt get dirty but they need a flag that says over here. I have the drawtite brand advantage 2. i got the one decimal light when I hit the brake will test it out tomorrow if I get time. Also made a mount for my cb to fit under the bag holder. two other projects are putting clearance lights on and putting very big mud flaps on. Hopefully in next few weeks.
it is very close to where it would go on the 09 but not sure were the factory 05 would be. i should have taken a picture to post would save next guy about 30 min of just about upside down looking for it
x2 on the brake controller install. but one of my buddies who works down at Tork Lift showed me where the plug was last summer so that saved alot of time.. PITA plugging it in when you have so much stuff running behind the dash
brake controller test failed nothing with my truck. I hooked up to my friends and still nothing so i had him hook up to my trailer and set the tonque on his ball he runs 2 5/16 i have 2" i did get a little noise out of brakes and he did get a number indication so i'll assume its my truck or controller i will do a test of the controller tomorrow to confirm
