Factory NAV updates not available?
Anyone have an idea how to find out about updates to Ford Factory Navigation Systems? You use to be able to buy updates from Navteq, but now they have a message stating:
"Map updates for your Ford, Lincoln and Mercury Navigation System
Dear valued Ford, Lincoln and Mercury consumers. Please be advised that NAVTEQ is temporarily not selling any Ford-branded map update products at this time. For more information on the availability of Ford-branded map update products, please contact your local Ford, Lincoln or Mercury Dealer."
When I asked the dealer, they gave me a phone number to NAVTEQ, which in turn told me to contact a Ford dealer.
Any idea?

You can go do the dealer and take a chance of paying way more then the $149 MSRP from Navteq. Or, hang on for a little bit until the minor scuffle is settled between the two and Navteq will start selling the map update again. A bit of inside information.
