pioneer headset, pioneer fronts and alpines rear. its loud as hell. VERY loud. not alot of bass, but VERY loud. you can hear it clearly from a country block away.
It's in my dd not the truck. I have a pioneer hu, 6.5 pioneer 3-ways up front, 6x9 pioneer 3-ways in the back deck, and the a sony 1000w amp and 2 sony 12's in the trunk. Kicks damn hard, I like because it's just the right amount of bass to tremble, unlike most you can hear the lyrics.
pioneer avic 910 bt head unit / nav / dvd / blue tooth
2 12" eclipse subs in a linex'd box
6 1/2" eclipse components all around
eclipse 5 channel powering it
pioneer AVH 4100 head unit
Alpine type x component all around
2 12" alpine type X subs
PDX 1.1000 powering the subs ... a second one is on the list of things to buy when the money comes
dont have one in my 97(dd) except a pioneer(which I hate, came with the truck) CD/MP3 player with Boston Acoustic 6x8s all the way around. sounds pretty good, hits like an underpowered 10'' sub.
in my Contour SVT I had 2 Kicker L7s in a slot ported box, 2 Kicker 1000w amps, Infinity Reference 6x8s, with an Alpine CDE-9843 CD/MP3 headunit, had an extra battery in the truck. could not really run that with my windows up, it'd push my moonroof open with the pressure. when I was in HS, the thing was to have the loudest, hardest hitting, most bass system possible. It was between me, and my buddy that had a Regal GS with the same setup....we kinda grew out of that.
in my 54, I have(all still in the box) Alpine IVA-D106 CD/DVD/MP3 flip out, Boston Acoustic components all the way around(B-A SC60s), one Kicker L7 10" with Kicker 1000w mono-block IX1000.1...its more for show-off/car show than anything else. Seems the better put together systems(stereo, chasis, paint/body, etc) you have, the better you do at shows. plus its a long drive to some shows, gotta have a DVD player for my girl, otherwise she gets cranky. and yes, I run an HO alternator and twin optima yellow tops.
Alpine.
Everywhere, front and rear speakers replaced, running a 4 channel amp to them, an 800w alpine amp running to 2 12"s.
Fixing to go with a DAT amp and 4 DC audo 12"s
VR3 crapunit from wal-mart, 2 6.5" boston acoustics, 2 Jensen 6X9's under the rear seat, 1000watt Konaki amp with a partially blown 10" Sony Xplod sealed. All sounds like crap. Unless its the headunit making it that way. Nothing rattles except the sub down in the box where its blown but does not hit worth crap. Will lull you to sleep first.
well, my last post was the 'planned' system for the 97. never happened.
after days of arguing with myself, i ended up with a Kenwood KDC-138 headset, and JVC 3 way 6x8 speakers.
im still trying to decide on a shallow mount sub(s) and corresponding amp(s). also in need of a 4ch amp for the JVCs. they are extremely underpowered. as in 15wrms instead of the 50wrms needed.
There are two sound systems in my truck. 61 f100 unibody
1: headman headers, 2 magnaflow hushpower mufflers (I prefer the burble to a rumble/roar) and straight 2.5" from there
Cause c'mon, who here doesn't think a v8 is music?
2. Eclipse cd7200 mkii (ipod/cd/usb), Focal 3 way component 165 KRX3, focal 13" 33KX subwoofer powered by Steg 2|01 and 4|01 amplifiers (I may be a little into sound reproduction and quality). Loud without being noise, as close to reproducing studio recording settings on four wheels without really spending money.
